Artist in Residence

in 2017 I was based as Artist in Residence at Ventnor Botanical Gardens.

Working with  a selection  of the 37 varieties of eucalyptus growing there I developed a series of eco printing  techniques on silk, linen, wool and cotton.

This was followed in 2018 with "Threads Connect Ryde " where I  worked as co Artist in Residence to design and make a community architectural textile hanging for Ryde Library.

Indigo and Rust dyeing techniques have been used together with slow stitch to create this  piece which has been based on the  recent Ryde census. Workshops took place at various centres in Ryde throughout the summer.

This is now on permanent display in Ryde Library.
